ABOUT US

   Our Mission is to
sponsor and support community programs which serve as a bridge of understanding and respect for traditions and values of community residents of multicultural backgrounds .  Our program areas include Arts, Culture, Education, Environment, Health, Media, Families, Seniors and Youth.

GATO   is an all volunteer volunteer organization consisting of residents from Contra Costa, primarily from Antioch, Pittsburg, Bay Point, Concord,  Oakley, Brentwood and Bethel Island.  Members are of diverse backgrounds, ethnicity, employment, and talent.   We were incorporated in  1994, with final status granted in 2002 as a 501(c)3 charitable organization. The organization name is derived from a domestic Siamese cat named Gato who was a companion animal and enjoyed life to its fullest until cancer slowed him down.
